about
Yazmin Lacey's new single ‘Bad Company’, out 10th November 2022. An introspective track narrating the relationship between Yazmin and her inner demon, she explains “I like to call her Priscilla, we have a love hate relationship but over the years I’ve started to make peace with her/me. We often want to ignore those ugly parts of ourselves, but there’s something powerful and humbling in acknowledging it, after all she ain’t going anywhere!”. ‘Bad Company’ follows up previous single ‘Pieces’ which Yazmin called “An open goodbye letter”.
Released by Own Your Own Records under exclusive license to Believe.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
